Sunday
Back in January, worn out from having spent a year on tour and facing a new album’s release and another year spent mostly on a bus, away from the comforts of home and family, I decided to try to write a book. I had made a couple of stabs in that direction before (as well as a couple of screenplays) but had so far failed to complete one. The thing is, I love to write on the road. I write most every day out there. It’s usually not songs, as completing a song amid all of the noise, distractions and music blasting on the bus is very difficult (I do often start songs there that get finished later) but writing non-musical compositions comes pretty easy for me out here and it sure passes the time. Beside, I had an idea for a story I wanted to write and it started coming very easily. By our third month on the road I already had a pretty firm outline of what I wanted and several chapters that I felt really good about.

Cris Jacobs
Saturday
Singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs has explored the outer realms of bluegrass, folk, funk, country, blues, soul, and rock with stylistic reverence, adventurous alchemy, and emotional sincerity. Throughout his musical travels he’s amassed a dedicated fanbase engaged by the warmth and high quality of his lived-in songs. “I’ve always just accepted and respected that evolution is part of the creative process,” the Baltimore, Maryland-based artist explains. “But I’ve made sure that throughout my work, I’ve always been honest. That’s the end goal, writing music that is meaningful to me.” Cris Jacobs began his career fronting the acclaimed band and award-winning jam band The Bridge. The sextet released four albums in 10 years, and averaged 200 shows a year. When the band went on permanent hiatus, Cris continued on following the music. In 2012, he issued his solo debut, Songs For Cats And Dogs, a masterful album featuring poignant songwriting, honey and whiskey soaked vocals, burly riffs, dazzling guitar playing, and bucolic pedal steel guitar.

Steve Kimock
Saturday/Sunday
A master of improvisation for over four decades, Steve Kimock has been inspiring music fans with his transcendent guitar speak, voiced through electric, acoustic, lap and pedal steel guitars. While one can say that his genre is rock, no one niche has ever confined him. Instead, through the years, he’s explored various sounds and styles based on what’s moved him at the time, whether it’s blues or jazz; funk or folk; psychedelic or boogie; gypsy or prog-rock; traditional American or world fusion.

Richmond Fontaine
Friday
Richmond Fontaine was formed in 1994 at Portland Meadows racetrack in Portland, Oregon as songwriter/vocalist Willy Vlautin and bassist Dave Harding pored over the racing form and talked music between races. The two took their mutual love of Husker Du, Willie Nelson, X, The Blasters, and The Replacements and started playing music together. Before long, Fontaine was a solid four-piece outfit with an avid fan-base in the US and abroad. In the 90’s Richmond Fontaine put out three albums on Cavity Search Records (Safety, Miles From, and Lost Son) and garnered praise for their powerful blend of rock, country, punk and folk. Critics took notice of Vlautin’s story-based songs, which have often drawn comparison to the short stories of Raymond Carver and Larry Brown.

Casey Neill and the Norway Rats
Friday
The music of Casey Neill & The Norway Rats combines high energy post-punk rave-ups and atmospheric reveries built around narrative songwriting. Neill has been touring extensively for more than a decade, performing his songs at venues such as Town Hall in New York, San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, and the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. He is often a member of the Northwest power pop collective The Minus 5 (with members of R.E.M.) as well as Japanese/American cross cultural band Big Bridges.

The Quick & Easy Boys
Saturday - Late Night in the Barn: The Quick & Easy Boys Featuring Cris Jacobs
The Quick & Easy Boys are a power-trio out of Portland, Oregon that creates their own blend of rock and roll. Imagine the Minutemen, the Police, and Band of Gypsies rolled into one. Fresh into 2015, the Boys have just released their 4th album – Follow Us Overboard – this time recorded by renown producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Deer Tick, Jackie Greene, etc.) at Modest Mouse mastermind Isaac Brock’s personal studio. Recent accolades also include being selected as main support for the legendary Funky Meters at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO, as well as having their song “Señorita” featured on Lewis Black’s “Old Yeller” comedy special.

Hillstomp
Friday - Late Night in the Barn: Hillstomp
Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo HILLSTOMP is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it works. Despite their homemade instruments and novel approach, Hillstomp is no novelty act.

Dragondeer
Sunday
Dragondeer is a psych-blues band from Denver, Colorado whose singular, reverb drenched take on old school blues coupled with inspired improvisation has the band making fans in roots circles as well as indie clubs across Colorado and beyond. In the band’s first two and half years of playing together, Dragondeer has become a festival staple with slots on the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, Nacarubi Music Festival in Big Sur, California, Tour De Fat, South Park Music Festival, SXSW 2014-2015, The Denver Post Underground Music Showcase (The UMS), and an appearance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. Dragondeer spent the fall/winter of 2015 recording with producer Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Tom Waits, Anders Osborne) in California's storied Topanga Canyon and a full length record will be out in 2016.

Cedar Teeth
Sunday
Cedar Teeth hails from the Cascade foothills, where the sound of saws cut through the Oregon woods and the lights of Portland set the western horizon aglow. The music of Cedar Teeth is shaped by the experience of living in this margin dividing the wilderness from the city. Between the five members of the band emerges a fusion of guitars, banjo, and keys, propelled by bass and drums, while vocal harmonies weave through the music. Their songs are thus sweeping and immersive, at turns rustically melodic, lyrically raw, and aggressive, as they explore the tensions of our time: love, confusion, progress, and corruption in a morally ambivalent landscape.
